Divine Providence and Divine Provision

 Friday Evening Service

Sermon: Pres.Eld. David Lartey

Scriptures: Mathew 26:26
                        Proverbs 16:9

There is a difference between Providence and Provision. Gods providence refers to the fact that God who knows all our needs even before we ask, in his own wisdom provides the things that all comes together to fulfill what he wants for us. In other words Providence in the Christians Context refers to the things God has put in place, the mind of God, the thought of God of which we did not Request of Him but in his own wisdom makes them available and all of those comes together for the good of His People/Children. Gods providence is a proof of Gods indulgence in our lives.

Provision in the Christian Context is Seeking the face of God for a specific need or needs. When God provides that of which we ask of Him, it is called Gods provision.

God answers prayers according to His Will and not of our will. When you stay in the perfect will of God, it’s always the best.

A perfect biblical example of Providence is the life of Joseph. God in his own wisdom made Joseph go through some adventures to the Good of Joseph and Gods people.
**Some of Gods Providence may not make sense from the beginning but it’s for the good for those that believes in Him.

According to Mathew 26:26 We must believe and understand that Our God cares and loves us unconditionally. He knows our needs and He is always ready to provide for us as he provides for even insects and birds.

  •  One common mistake we sometimes make is we usually wait till we are in trouble before seeking the face of God.
  •  We should be steadfast in prayer and seek Gods face all the time. Let’s desist from going ahead of Him.
  •   He is always capable and on time, He sees ahead of us and according to Proverbs 16:9 proves that His will is always before us.
All things work together for they that love Him and walks according to His Will. Let’s exercise absolute Patience and believe in Gods Providence as the perfect plan in this our Christian Journey. May the Good Lord who provides food for the ant and the birds in the Sky provides us divinely all to His Glory.

  •  Prayer Points.
  1.  God should help us to stay in his perfect will
  2.  Gods Providence should be established and may we not miss our purpose as ordained on us By God.
  3.  May God teach us to love Him so we can wait on His Perfect Will.
  4.  John 11:41,42. When we praying on Gods Provision thus for specific needs ,we can learn from Jesus and start by thanking God in faith just as Jesus did when raising Lazarus from the Death.
